Covid19 Policy & Guidance
If you have symptoms of Covid19 or have been in the company of someone who has Covid19 or symptoms of, then we ask that you do not enter The Star Inn. This is to protect our other customers and our team. Please use the sanitisers that are supplied around the Star Inn, wash facilities are available in the toilets.
Please try and stick to your booking time as this also helps with social distancing.
We have reduced the amount of tables that we have inside the Star, but extended the amount we have outside, we also have screens to help divide tables. We are only serving tables of up to 6 people or two households of any size, as stated by government guidelines and by law.
On arrival at the Star we ask that you sanitise your hands on entry and wait to be seated at the greater station just inside the doors. If you can see a group waiting to be seated in the bar area, please wait behind the full glass doors and when the group in front of you move, then you can step forward. You must wear a face mask, this can be removed once you are seated. Your mask must be put away in either a pocket or bag and must not be left on tables or chairs etc as this can lead to contamination of many areas. If you need to get up from your table, you must put your mask back on. It is imperative that each diner sanitises after handling their mask.
We are offering FULL table service throughout, there is no ordering or standing at the bar itself. As we are operating table service only we request that customers stay seated at their table. You may leave your table to visit the toilets or go outside, social distancing still applies. Customers are not permitted to go up to other tables of people they know. We also ask that customers do not shout, sing or raise their voices as this can lead to an aerosol effect of droplets.
It is a legal requirement that we have customers details for track and trace. All customers of 16 years or over who come to the Star Inn MUST check in using the NHS COVID19 app. Please ensure that you have this app on your phone ready for your visit as this will reduce waiting time of diners entering the Star. If you do not have a smart phone, we will require your full name and contact number (email address or postal address if no phone). Failure to do the above could result in you being refused entry.
If you require the toilet, please take the quickest route. Our toilets and all contact points are cleaned every hour to reduce the spread of the virus. Please ensure you sanitise before entering and when leaving the toilets.
Customers who are accompanied by children are responsible for supervising them at all times and should follow social distancing guidelines also. Children must remain seated also and not be permitted to walk around.
We would like people to use contactless payments where possible, however we still take cash.
We are in contact and working with the local council on current guidelines, these will be monitored and changed accordingly as situations and guidelines change. We would like to assure you that all guidelines have been adhered to, we have worked tirelessly to ensure that our customers and our team are safe. The team have had specific Covid19 training to be able to return to work.
