FATHERS DAY MEAL

Treat your Dad to a lovely meal at the Star Inn to celebrate Father's day.
A la carte menu. Lunch is served between 12 and 3pm and the menu is below. Evening service will be between 6 and 8pm, for the evening menu please see our evening restaurant menu, or the bar menu if you book in the bar. NB. The bar area can only be reserved at 6pm and 6.15pm, after this it is a first come first served basis.

Starters

Soup of the day. £5.95

Award winning Yorkshire pudding 

with braised Yorkshire braised oxtail, caramelized red onion, crispy sage and red wine jus.  £9.95

Peck’s of Beverley smoked haddock risotto 

and a soft poached egg. £8.95

Staal’s smoked salmon, 

oak roast bon bons and preserved lemon with orange, capers, lambs lettuce and citrus dressing. £9.95

Whipped Lowna Dairy goat’s cheese, 

confit tomatoes, onion jam and sourdough crisps with a honey and rapeseed dressing.(V)  £7.95

Pressed York ham terrine 

with farmhouse chutney, grain mustard dressing and sourdough toasts. £7.95

Beer battered haddock & chips,

minted mushy peas & tartare sauce. £12.95

Cumberland sausage & mash,

crispy bacon, pig twig & shallot gravy. £11.95

East Coast Cod loin 

with coconut curry sauce, bhaji scraps, mini crab cake, sautè potatoes, Ellerker spinach, coriander oil and cress. £21.95

Pan fried rose veal calves liver, 

sautè giroles and baby onions with wild garlic and pea pureè, roast new potatoes, spring greens and red wine jus. £23.95

Leek, Lincolnshire Poachers and wholegrain mustard croquette

 with charred spring onions, fried duck egg, crispy shallots, squash pureè, cavolo nero        and tarragon dressing.     (V) £16.95

Braised lamb shank 

with roast root veg, creamed potato, rosemary dumplings and lamb jus. £18.95

British beef steak & Wold Top ale pie, 

home cut chips, spiced red cabbage & ale gravy. £14.95

Traditional Sunday Lunch

Laverack’s of Holme beef topside,

duck fat and thyme roast potato, award winning Yorkshire pudding and wine glazed gravy. £16.95

Wilberfoss pork loin, 

Doreen’s black pudding stuffing, sage and onion mash, roast potatoes, apple sauce, crackling, award winning Yorkshire pudding and gravy. £14.95 

Roast Free range chicken,

duck fat and thyme potaoes, Yorkshire pudding & gravy. £14.95

All mains are served on Sunday lunch are served with fresh seasonal vegetables.
