Today’s very different since 2003 in the hands of Ben and Lindsey Cox, turning what was once a rundown brewery owned pub into Yorkshires best-kept secret. They celebrate everything that’s great about Yorkshire supporting many local networks of food and drink, now one of Yorkshires favourite pubs and a top destination fine dining restaurant.

Located at Sancton in the heart of the Yorkshire Wolds, The Star Inn is welcoming both with its charming character and quality of service. Whether it’s a relaxed Sunday pub lunch, a fine dining experience in the restaurant, wedding ceremonies or providing catering services in Yorkshire, The Star accommodates all and is acclaimed to many local and national awards and listings due to its consistently high standards.

Here you will find Ben running the kitchen and Lindsey keeping her eye on the front of the house, making sure the standards remain as high as ever and the welcome is warm and ever present today and when we opened 14 years ago. Over the years The Star Inn has gained an outstanding reputation with not only the village locals and regulars in its home of North Yorkshire but also a favourite amongst the travelling foodies.

Since 2003 Ben and Lindsey’s ethos has always been that The Star Inn is the dining pub to locals and beyond and have treated it as if everyone who works there is part of their own small family. Their own children are as much of the business as they are, you may see one of them wandering around from time to time, as this is still very much their home and they all live and breathe The Star Inn. Dalton sometimes helps out rumbling potatoes, picking fresh fruit from the field and Demi talks very much of being a waitress someday.

The Star Inn’s future is certainly bright. Many plans are blossoming and business is sure going to get busier. With many talks about accommodation coming soon and the wedding seasons getting stronger for ‘’The Stars are out’’ brigade.
