'Best Local Menu'

Thursday 22^nd saw the East Yorkshire Local Food Network awards night. Having won the “Best Local Menu” twice over the last few years, pressure was on to defend our title.  Again we won the category and were presented with a beautiful handmade plate for us to display.

It was then time for Ben to take to the stage to present the award for “Local Food Hero”. Having won this award himself last year, it was up to Ben and the judges to decide who would be the winner of this year’s award and for Ben to present it.  It was awarded to fellow Sancton villager Graham Ward. Graham has been working hard for many years in local food and growing vegetables, as well as business networks. In the industry for 56 years, he has an OBE, awards in 2005 for service to horticulture, a Harlow Garden medal of service and horticulture and a life time of outstanding contribution achievement for horticulture Industry in 2005 and 2012.  Grahams enthusiasm for local food growth is never ending and he has used his wisdom and experience to promote local food tirelessly.
